Wang 720
The Wang 720 is essentially an extended-memory version of the Wang 700, with double the RAM capacity but otherwise the same hardware, microcode and capabilities.
Like the 700, the 720 has -A, -B and -C versions where -A and -B are microcode variations and -C has specific hardware together with its own microcode.
The electronic design and construction of the 720 machines is otherwise the same as their 700 series siblings using small-scale TTL logic ICs from the 74xx family. RAM is magnetic core, this is in keeping with Wang’s long association with core memory. ROM is wire-braid, the 700 series having been designed just a little too early to benefit from MOS ROM.
