ROM Emulator
Defective wire braid microcode ROM is a common and showstopping 600 series fault. The only solution for this is to install a ROM emulator.The emulator holds 16 separate 2k word ROM images with a rotary switch to select the active image. Images can be different versions of original Wang microcode, or custom-written test and diagnostic routines. Originally developed for the 600 series and also fully compatible with the 700 series.
Diagnostic Microcode
If power supply repair and ROM replacement do not restore a machine it can be difficult to make progress because most often there are no specific symptoms. Diagnostic microcode loaded into the ROM Emulator can help to identify the area(s) of failure.
600 Series 2-word Test ROM
If detailed investigation of machine logic is required the 2-word ROM can provide the means to set up the exact test conditions.
ROM Reader
