First Run
With,
- a long list of repairs made,
- RAM seemingly good,
- keyboard repaired,
- zero flag repaired by correcting the ROM Emulator
- all the diagnostic microcodes now running correctly,
it seemed like a good time to take a chance and launch the full Wang 2K microcode image.
Success!!
Wang 600 CC2001 Boots Up
These machines generally boot up in an undefined state with a flashing display to indicate an error state. Pressing Prime brought up a stable zero display. The display can be changed between floating and scientific display with the Sc/Fl toggle button. Numbers can be entered in floating or scientific format. A quick calculation of π confirmed the machine was computing correctly, not just displaying a fixed pattern. The printer (which is driven by precise timing intervals generated in microcode) worked at the first attempt.
