Main Timing Test
Wang 600 Basic Timing Analysis
The first thing to check with a dead machine is that the basic timing signals are all present and correct.
The 5965 board generates the system clock and all of the main timing, this can be tested with the HP16500C logic analyzer. The timing capture shows that all signals are correct (the MKI master clock is not properly captured but must be present since it is the basis for all the other signals).
With timing verified, it is time to use diagnostic microcode to characterise and localise the fault(s).
