Sharp CS-20A Calculator

Sharp CS-20A
The Compet 20 is a first-generation all-transistor machine with Nixie tube display.

It has many first-generation features including a complex die-cast chassis and a peculiar keyboard layout with a ’triple-zero’ key and the decimal point on a large key at the top of the keyboard.

This machine was produced in June 1966, based on its serial number decode. It was made in Japan and supplied to Sharp’s Australian importer and agent, Olims Electronics who cheekily added a “Manufactured by Olims Electronics” sticker.

The machine somehow found its way to Uraguay, from where it returned nearly fifty years later.
