Logos 328 Initial Inspection
The machine was received in good general condition with no sign of damage or abuse, and it was not too dirty.
After removing the covers the internal condition was found to be good, with no sign of damage or interference, and no obvious missing parts.
Olivetti Logos 328 Drive belt disintegrated
Olivetti Logos 328 Rubber belt is goo
There was obvious disintegration of a printer drive belt and closer inspection showed that a rubber belt in the same area had depolymerised into goo. Neither of these should be showstoppers as both belts should be readily replaceable.
Olivetti Logos 328 Nylon gear shrink and fracture
The mechanism could be turned by hand and was not jammed but there was a regular click as the main shaft was rotated. The main drive belt was seen to be jumping with each click and inspection of the main pulley showed that the nylon had shrunk and fractured, causing the ribbed belt to jump over the now mis-sized pulley. This is a showstopper until the pulley is repaired or replaced.
