Friden EC-132 Calculator

The EC-132 was an improvement to the EC-130, square root extraction was the main user-visible change.

The internal architecture was changed significantly - the EC-130 originally used four sets of counter circuits but a later redesign reduced this to three sets - an important point when trouboeshooting an individual machine. The EC-132 used the three-counter architecture.

A mechanical item-counter was available as an option and is fitted to the machine in DoPECC’s collection. The item counter, the stack and the square root function allow easy development of n, sum of d and sum of d-squared as is commonly required in statistical analyses.

Further write-up of this item is pending.
