Power Supply
The machine was received in a clean and undamaged state, after intitial inspection verifies that there is no obvious damage or interference then it’s reasonable to inspect, test and repair the powwer supply.
Friden 1112 / Hitachi ECLA 12 Power Supply
The power supply is a pretty straightforward transformer-isolated, linear regulated topography. Inspection showed that some of the 50yo electrolytics were deteriorated and leaking. In these cases it’s pretty straightforward to replace the obviously bad ones, reform and test the others, replace any others with unsatisfactory capacitance or ESR.
The power rails came up to specified levels and were clean on the ‘scope, so good to proceed to first power-up.
